Kim Wieringa
Assistant Deputy Minister & CIO, Alberta Health

Kim  has led the Health Information Systems Division as an Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Information Officer for Alberta Health since 2015. 

This is Kim’s second 9-year term in the Health Department.  Kim has also held positions in other ministries, and in the municipal and banking environments. 

Kim oversees a diverse portfolio that includes the strategy and oversight of the Provincial eHealth ecosystem, delivery and oversight of Alberta’s electronic health record, Alberta Netcare and the Albertan’s health record, and MyHealth Records for Albertans. 

Her responsibilities also include health information privacy and security, including the administration of the Health Information Act, and the delivery and operations of the department’s many information systems.
