TECHNATION creates and supports industry events that deliver education, networking, and development of partnerships within the industry and with government at the provincial level. Building relationships, learning from others, and discussing issues are what our events are all about.

GovTechON Briefings (CCIO)

TECHNATION has been collaborating with Government Information Technology Ontario (GovTechON) to design and co-host an event that brings industry and government together to identify technology enablers and collaborate for future resilience. Working with the Corporate Chief Information Officer/Associate Deputy Minister, the goal is to create an open and transparent value exchange between industry and government; to increase awareness of Ontario’s current challenges and opportunities; and to identify opportunities for innovative, citizen-centric digital solutions and collaboration, partnership, and co-creation.

Ontario Broader Public Sector CIO Breakfast Series

At each of these sessions, distinguished panelists discuss critical issues and opportunities facing Broader Public Sector Leaders and their agencies. This series is designed to be an open and transparent value exchange, and to encourage the sharing of information between industry and government as well as to jointly identify IT challenges and collective solutions. The goal of each event is to discuss how the IT vendor community can better support government business and cultivate more effective citizen-centered service delivery.

The benefits for TECHNATION and its member community are extensive. These forums provide an opportunity for vendors to establish contacts with government and industry leaders whom they might not otherwise meet. By attending, members are informed of government priorities to allow them to better focus their marketing and development, and assess resource requirements specific to current and future needs.

Ontario Public Sector Business Committee

TECHNATION hosts a series of discussions held in conjunction with our Ontario Public Sector Business Committee Meetings. The goal is to provide an informal – but structured – discussion between Ontario’s government leaders and TECHNATION members interested in learning more about the ways government and Canada’s tech industry can advance the mission of making Ontario’s government and government services simpler, faster and more efficient.
