The Ontario Government continues to support Ontario companies to recover and/or further develop their interprovincial and international markets as a means to get back to business. This includes 1-on-1 export advice, webinars focused on market/sector intelligence, and facilitation of international/interprovincial business connections. March 10: Meet TELEFONICA, IBM, KT Corp., NTT Data Services, and DALLAS Airport at the 5th Ontario AI & SaaS Global Sourcing Program (APPLY THIS WEEK)

Ontario technology companies are invited to take part in the 5th Virtual Ontario AI & SaaS Global Sourcing Program. The global sourcing program provides Ontario companies with exclusive access to major international buyers who are seeking to source technology from innovative information and communications technology (ICT) businesses. For the upcoming iteration of the program, we have an impressive roster of leading corporations confirmed to participate. These include Telefonica (Spain), one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world; KT Corporation, South Korea’s largest integrated telecommunications provider that offers a full range of telecom services; NTT Data Services, which is part of the Tokyo based NTT DATA – a top 10 global IT services provider; Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, the third busiest airport in the world by aircraft movements; and IBM Global business services, the professional arm of IBM focused on management, strategy consulting and application management services.

The buyers are interested in a wide range of innovative technology applications including in cybersecurity, logistics, cloud, fintech, business intelligence, analytics/data science and other leading-edge technologies in AI and SaaS. The program consists a virtual morning seminar with presentations from international buyers on their organization and technology sourcing interests. Following the seminar, attending Ontario companies will be send an application form to submit their company profiles to apply for B2B meetings with the international buyers. If selected, meetings between the international buyers and Ontario companies will be scheduled on a individual basis. March 11: ExportON!: Pitch Preparation Workshop

Ontario remains committed to creating opportunities for our business community to help them remain strong and get back up and running during these unprecedented times. As a part of this commitment, the Government of Ontario is offering a series of free webinars to help reboot your export business.   In this workshop designed to help you develop the all important “pitch presentation”, we begin with what is most important to your customers and business partners – focussing on how you communicate your features, benefits and value. We will build up your presentation and then break that down into a 15 second elevator pitch and a two minute coffee pitch. March 18: Fintech opportunities in Europe –  Meet BNP Paribas (France), NatWest/Mettle (UK), ING (Germany), Banca Sella/Fabrick (Italy), Barclays (UK)

Organized in collaboration with Global Affairs Canada and Ontario’s European Trade and Investment Offices in London, Paris and Munich, the event will focus on supporting Ontario Fintech companies in building connections with potential clients and partners in key markets throughout Europe. March 25: Pitching opportunity at Ontario Fintech Innovator Forum

During the upcoming Ontario Fintech Innovator Forum event (March 25, 2021 – 10:30am-12:00pm EST) there is a great opportunity for Ontario Fintech companies to deliver a short 5 minute pitch to a European audience of FIs, Incubators/accelerators, Fintech companies and other European industry stakeholders from the UK, Germany, France and Italy. Due to time restrictions, only 5 Ontario companies will be able to participate – 1 company for each of the following product/solution categories: “open banking”, “user experience & engagement”, “payments”, “cybersecurity” and “ESG”. Companies must be headquartered in Ontario, have at least one major client and be either already active in European markets or have Europe as their primary target market. Thursday, March 18: Dos’s and Don’ts at the US Border Crossing

The Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade in partnership with the United States Border Protection Agency, invite you to join a complimentary webinar about the “Do’s and Don’ts” that must be adhered to if you are going to successfully move your goods across the border in a timely manner. This one-hour webinar is a practical introduction to the do’s and don’ts at the US border crossing.  Participants will have an opportunity to hear first-hand from a officer with the US Customs and Border Protection Agency, who will provide Ontario manufacturers with important information about what they need to know when shipping products to the United States.  Particular attention will be paid to the importance of the required US documentation. April 5-7: Virtual Trade Mission to Cybertech Global; Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Cybertech Global is the largest networking event for the cyber industry outside of the US. This year the event will be held both in-person and virtually. The event will include conference sessions and special events featuring artificial intelligence (AI), advanced Internet of Things (IoT), big data, cloud, blockchain, and a wide spectrum of sectors ranging from finance and insurance, SCADA/ICS, mobile and communications, to the health industry, smart mobility, and many more. The virtual events will be a mix of pre-recorded presentations and livestreams. April 12 – April 16: Call for expression of Interests – Advanced Manufacturing Mission to Hannover Messe 2021

A hot spot for industrial technology innovation, Hannover Messe is the world’s largest annual exhibition focused on advanced manufacturing technology with close to 5,500 exhibitors and over 200,000 visitors. For the first time this year, Hannover Messe will take place in a fully virtual format positioned as manufacturing’s leading knowledge and networking platform. April 20-22: ICT Export Business Mission to Collision from Home 2021

The Government of Ontario invites Ontario companies in artificial intelligence/machine learning, fintech, cybersecurity, sensor-based technology, digital health, enterprise-tech, logistic/supply-chain tech, industrial IoT and other ICT sub-sectors to join a digital export business mission to Collision from Home 2021. Collision is North America’s fastest growing technology conference that attracts more than 25,000 leaders from the global technology community every year. The 2020 version of Collision from Home attracted 32,000 attendees including 850 investors and more than 1,000 start-ups from 140 countries. Two participation options are available, based on your business status and interests: Stream 1: General Admission Tickets for Established Businesses; Stream 2: Start-up package for qualified start-ups (criteria to be provided). August 19-21, 2021: Ontario ICT Export Business Mission to Medical Fair India 2021

The Ontario government is organizing an export business mission to Medical Fair India for Ontario companies supplying technology, medical devices and medical equipment to the healthcare market. The 2020 trade show saw 279 exhibitors, including 47 from overseas, in addition to 8,700 visitors and 300 delegates from hospitals and medical centres, medical schools and government health departments. India’s healthcare market will reach C$483 billion by 2022, with government plans to increase public healthcare spending to 2.5 percent of the GDP. A growing population of 1.3 billion people, rising incomes, an increase in the prevalence of disease, rising insurance access, and the popularity of medical tourism are all driving medical investments in India. Due to its strong market potential, investment in India’s healthcare infrastructure is set to rise, benefiting hospitals and health care R&D. Ontario companies participating in the mission will receive targeted assistance, including B2B meetings with Indian companies, hospitals and organizations; market intelligence and briefings on the health care industry in India; introductions to decision-makers in the Indian health care market; and access to networking events and potential speaking opportunities at Medical Fair India.

September 21-25, 2021: Advanced Manufacturing Export Business Mission to Automation Expo 2021

Automation Expo is Asia’s leading automation, instrumentation and robotics exhibition and provides an ideal platform to showcase technologies, advancements, systems, and services. The trade show, which focuses on factory automation, turnkey solutions, process and building automation, instrumentation and control, robotics, sensors, equipment and devices, attracts more than 50,000 visitors and 1,000 exhibitors from 15 industries. The Government of Ontario-led business mission will provide an opportunity to showcase products and technology solutions to Indian organizations. India’s manufacturing sector has the potential to reach C$1.3 trillion by 2025. The country aims to boost the manufacturing sector’s share of GDP from 16 percent to 25 percent by 2022. India’s labour-intensive manufacturing will eventually give way to the adoption of machines, especially as COVID-19 underscores the importance of robotics across a range of industries.
