February 3-7, 2021: Ontario MRO Export Business Mission to Aero India

The Ontario government is organizing an export business mission to Aero India for export-ready Ontario companies providing Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services to the aerospace and defence sectors, including technologies advancing the MRO industry. Given rising COVID-19 cases in India, Aero India may shift to a virtual format. The 2019 edition featured 750 global and Indian exhibitors, more than 150,000 business visitors and 300,000 general visitors, and ministerial/defence heads and delegations from 109 countries. India has become the third-largest domestic aviation market in the world and is expected to overtake the UK to become the third-largest air passenger market by 2024. Due to an underdeveloped defence manufacturing sector and the desire to modernize operations, India is one of the largest importers of defence equipment, at approximately 60 percent. The Indian government is keen to develop a ‘Make in India’ strategy to manufacture at home and to make India a regional hub for the MRO of civil and defence aircraft. The repair of aircraft components, airframes and engines in India is worth about U.S.$8 billion and will increase to U.S.$20 billion in three years. Ontario MRO companies participating in the mission will receive targeted assistance from the Ontario government, including: B2B meetings with Indian companies; introductions to decision-makers in leading aerospace and defence manufacturers, integrators and other partners; market intelligence and briefings on the aerospace and defence industries in India; and participation in potential networking events at Aero India. February 25-27, 2021: Ontario ICT Export Business Mission to Medical Fair India

The Ontario government is organizing an export business mission to Medical Fair India for export-ready Ontario companies supplying technology, medical devices and medical equipment to the healthcare market. Given rising COVID-19 cases in India, the show may shift to a virtual format. Last year’s trade show included 500-plus exhibitors, 17 countries, and nearly 15,000 visitors from hospitals and medical centres, medical schools and government health departments. A growing population of 1.3 billion people, rising incomes, an increase in the prevalence of disease, rising insurance access, and the popularity of medical tourism are all driving medical investments in India. Due to its strong market potential, investment in India’s healthcare infrastructure is set to rise, benefiting hospitals, health care R&D and health care education in the country. Ontario companies participating in the mission will receive targeted assistance from the Ontario government, including  B2B meetings with Indian companies, hospitals and organizations; market intelligence and briefings on the health care industry in India; introductions to decision-makers in the Indian health care market; and access to networking events and potential speaking opportunities at Medical Fair India.
