Last week, Canada’s largest-ever study of Black women entrepreneurs was published by the Black Business and Professional Association, Casa Foundation for International Development and de Sedulous Women Leaders with researchers from the Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH).
The report looks closely at the challenges Black women entrepreneurs face, including barriers to financing, bias and racism—and suggests recommendations for change. It also shows that despite these barriers, many Black women entrepreneurs continue to develop successful businesses and turn to entrepreneurship to address unmet needs in the market, to celebrate their culture and to give back to their communities. |
