Digital Marketplace
Canada’s governments have long had the reputation of being difficult to do business with. Procurement has been non-inclusive, resulting in our innovative leading-edge scale-ups resorting to doing business around the world, but not in Canada. Large corporations and multi-nationals have described government procurement processes as obsolete, and not in touch with the rapidly changing technologies available in market.
Through Canada’s Digital Marketplace (DM), the support of our DM Advisory Council, and a true collaboration with Shared Services Canada (SSC), together we have shifted the paradigm. Other departments and levels of government are now pursuing this model as a best practice. Government Agile Procurement pilots are proving effective, and this program is expanding enterprise-wide opportunities in the Tech sector for all companies from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to multinationals.
Supported by a growing alliance of 10 National Partners, 20 Community Outreach Partners, and over 500 registered technology companies from across the country, Canada’s Digital Marketplace has been instrumental in the disruption of government procurement.
The Digital Marketplace is an open-source business intelligence platform that is accessible to all tech-based companies across Canada, to register and showcase their areas of technology specialization and experience.
