Cloud Economics: Making the Business Case for Cloud

Enabling Digital Government for Everyone (EDGE) Webinar Series

Technology has emerged as a critical business capability, and most public sector organizations now understand they need to build technology into their business strategy. However, they often struggle to communicate the value of tech to the business and deploy technology in a way that the full scope of potential benefits can be captured.

TECHNATION has introduced a new webinar series – Enabling Digital Government for Everyone (EDGE) – focused on thought leadership and practical approaches to help governments with the ‘HOW’ of successfully adopting and deploying enabling technology. Our vision for EDGE is to facilitate more frequent dialogue between government and industry to effect change and ultimately deliver better digital services to everyone.

Cloud Economics: Making the Business Case for Cloud

Thursday, January 26, 2022 | 13:00 – 14:00 (EDT)

Most public sector CIOs are already aware of some of the advantages of the Cloud. However, they do not always have a clear idea on how to make the case for and carry out the transformation to Cloud computing in a structured way. Cloud solutions are often adopted in an ad hoc, tactical manner, resulting in a more complex and fragmented IT landscape, and increased IT costs.

Moving to the Cloud does not mean simply migrating existing data and applications from an in-house data centre to a shared cloud and expecting to reap the benefits of an agile, scalable model. Applying a traditional IT vision to the cloud environment will not work.

Applying a smart cloud policy not only saves an organization money but creates value by spurring innovation, boosting speed and agility, and increasing security, compliance, and standardization.
