TECHNATION President and CEO stepping down following a successful six-year term

Mississauga, ON – April 21, 2025 – Today, TECHNATION announced that Angela Mondou will step down as its President and CEO, effective May 31, 2025, after leading the organization for six years.

Since joining TECHNATION in April 2019, Angela has transformed the organization, achieving remarkable milestones for the association and Canada’s tech sector. Under her leadership, TECHNATION rebranded from the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) to TECHNATION, modernizing the association’s scope beyond traditional IT to represent advancements and innovations to fully represent Canada’s tech sector.

Under Angela’s leadership, TECHNATION expanded its pan-Canadian presence, successfully growing the CIO event series to regions across Alberta, Atlantic Canada, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Angela seamlessly transitioned operations to a virtual model, ensuring the continued delivery of impactful programs and events.

During her tenure, Angela has driven impactful industry-government collaboration, including launching and co-chairing TECHNATION’s Cybersecurity Taskforce (CTF), which led to the creation of the Threat Intelligence Working Group to strengthen Canada’s cyber resilience. During the pandemic, she spearheaded Canada’s Digital Marketplace in partnership with Shared Services Canada’s ScaleUp program, elevating Canadian innovators in government procurement. Additionally, she led the AI4Canada Summit in 2024, advocating for responsible and accelerated AI adoption across the country.

“Leading TECHNATION over the past six years has been an extraordinary privilege,” said Mondou. “Collaborating with Canada’s exceptional technology leaders and stakeholders, we’ve achieved pivotal milestones that strengthened our tech sector, navigated the disruption of COVID-19 and advanced Canada’s position as a global technology and innovation leader. I’m deeply proud of what our team has accomplished—including expanding our pan-Canadian presence and driving the adoption of emerging technologies. Through Canada’s TECH7/G7 coalition, I’ve had the honour of contributing to global leadership on technology policy, AI and digital governance, and sustainable economic growth. As I prepare to step down, I do so with immense pride and with full confidence in TECHNATION’s continued ability to lead boldly, shape national conversations and champion the future of technology in Canada and beyond.”

On the global stage, Angela strengthened TECHNATION’s international footprint through the TECH7/G7 partnership, forging connections between Canada’s tech sector and G7 nations. Her unwavering dedication and vision over the past six years have left a long-lasting mark on TECHNATION and Canada’s tech industry.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to Angela for her exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to TECHNATION and Canada’s tech sector,” said Lloyd Switzer, Chair of TECHNATION’s National Board of Directors and Chief Procurement Officer, TELUS. “Angela’s transformative vision and dedication have not only elevated our association but have also driven industry-government collaboration, digital transformation and global engagement. Her impact will be felt for years to come, and we wish her the very best in her future endeavors.”

TECHNATION’s Executive Committee has initiated an external search for a new President and CEO to lead the association into its next chapter. As it moves forward, TECHNATION remains steadfast in its mission to enhance the significant contribution that technology can make to Canada’s economic prosperity and global competitiveness.
