Employer FAQs

Is there a cost to participate?

There is no cost for employers to participate in ADaPT. Employers hire participants into paid placements, but there are no program fees associated with accessing or onboarding talent through ADaPT.

Are wage subsidies available?

Yes. Eligible employers can receive a wage subsidy covering 50% of a participant’s wages, up to a maximum of $5,000. This support helps reduce onboarding costs and encourages employers to create meaningful early‑career opportunities. For an employer to qualify for the wage subsidy, the placement needs to be 8-12 weeks.

What roles can ADaPT participants support?

ADaPT supports any tech-immersive roles across many different disciplines and functions, and you don’t need to be a tech company to promote tech skills development. Some common examples include:

  • Marketing: market research, industry analysis, digital marketing, branding, design, communications
  • Strategy: consulting, analysts, business development
  • Data & tech: data analysis, AI / machine learning, software development, IT support

What support do employers receive during the placement?

Employers receive comprehensive support from the ADaPT team throughout the entire placement. This includes:

  • Guidance with candidate matching to help ensure participants align with your role requirements
  • Access to additional employer‑focused resources, including tools and learning materials designed to strengthen your capacity to supervise and develop early‑career talent. Through TECHNATION’s Career Ready program, employers can also use  LaunchPad, which offers e‑learning modules, templates, and practical resources to help you more effectively lead and support student employees.
  • Administrative support for wage subsidies (where applicable)
