As AI adoption accelerates, the focus is shifting from exploration to execution: where to apply it, how to govern it, and how to deliver measurable impact at scale. This requires a shift from viewing AI as a tool or technical capability to treating it as a strategic, organization-wide transformation.
Anchored in the theme of trust and accountability, this session will explore how leaders move beyond experimentation to deliver meaningful value for citizens. The discussion will focus on making deliberate, defensible choices about where AI can solve measurable problems; embedding governance, privacy, and risk considerations from the outset; and ensuring clear ownership of outcomes across policy, technology, and operations.

Katy Lalonde
Chief Digital and Data Officer, Supply Ontario
Katy Lalonde is the Chief Digital and Data Officer at Supply Ontario and has over 15 years of public sector experience across technology, policy, and operations. Her previous roles include Assistant Deputy Minister of Digital Innovation and Product in the Ontario Public Service, as well as the Director of Product, and founding member of, the Ontario Digital Service. She also serves on the National Board of Directors for the Institute for Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) and chairs their Domestic Programming Committee.
Her expertise is in technology and digital strategy, in the leadership and operations of digital organizations inside government, and in the delivery of user-centred services.

Stephanie Oldfield

Stephanie has worked in digital and data policy for the past 7 years, including as the Policy Manager at the former Ontario Digital Service and later as the Director of Digital and Data Policy. She led the development and implementation of Ontario’s Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence Framework, the Enhancing Digital Security and Trust Act, and many other digital policy frameworks, including the policy for Ontario’s first app. She was named one of the Top 100 Government AI Influencers by Apolitical in 2025 and teaches Digital Governance at McMaster University’s Master of Public Policy Program. Stephanie is currently the Director of Community Safety and Corrections Policy at the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
Dara Renton

Dara Renton is a digital government leader who served as Director of Product at the Ontario Digital Service before moving to the Government of Ontario’s Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security, where she now leads AI adoption across ministry teams – from helping Ontarians navigate career pathways and labour market information to deploying agentic AI that turns weeks of manual research and data gathering into minutes.
As Chair of the Ontario Public Service Product Management Community of Practice, Dara builds cross-government capacity for AI-enabled product development, moving teams from experimentation to working prototypes and operational impact.
With over 20 years in digital product leadership, her public-facing work includes Ontario.ca digital strategy and the province’s COVID-era digital tools. She has spoken at FWD50, Canada’s leading conference on digital government and public sector innovation.

Kelly is a Partner, Strategy & Transformation at BDO Canada LLP. With over 25 years of experience, Kelly has been at the forefront of providing strategic advice to public and private-sector clients, particularly in the realms of digital transformation, planning, organizational effectiveness, benchmarking, performance management, and project and portfolio management.
Throughout her career, she has continuously excelled at building and maintaining relationships, leveraging her strong communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and people skills. Her ability to obtain buy-in from senior management and stakeholders at all levels within organizations has been a key factor in her career success.
She takes a people first approach to solving business problems and has a deep understanding of the benefits and impacts of digital transformation and change on people processes and technology.
Kelly has spent her career working on the business side of organizations and assisting in the implementation of major transformation process and adoption of technology solutions. Early in her career Kelly worked at TD Canada Trust prior to joining BDO Canada.
Kelly has an MBA from McGill University, and a BSc (Kin) from the University of Waterloo. She is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and is a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner.
Kelly is a Director of the Royal Ottawa Foundation and a past-Board Member of the Old Ottawa South Community Association. She is an advocate for mental health services in the community, raising awareness and financial support.
