Sumon Acharjee
CIO, City of Markham

Sumon Acharjee is the Chief Information Officer for the City of Markham, Ontario Canada, joining in November 2021. He brings over 15 years of CIO experience across leading public sector institutions, including Queen’s University’s Smith School of Business, North York General Hospital, and Sheridan College. With more than 30+ years in IT leadership, Sumon has delivered innovative solutions across diverse industries such as healthcare, education, financial services, consumer products, and automotive.

His strategic vision has earned his team’s recognition for excellence in innovation, leadership, and stewardship. Sumon is a proven leader in digital transformation, known for integrating technologies and building high-performing, cross-functional teams. He understands the critical role of digital innovation in driving competitive advantage and organizational resilience.

Sumon holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo Ontario Canada and an MBA from Wilmington University USA.

Steve Ferrigni
VP, IT and CISO, WSIB

Steve is currently the VP IT and CISO for the WSIB. In his role, Steve is responsible for all aspects of cybersecurity, production support, infrastructure and networking operations as well as enterprise architecture and IT risk. He has been at the WSIB for over 10 years when he came from the Ontario Government where he held numerous positions within the IT security division including establishing the internal IT Forensics investigation and vulnerability assessment teams. He has an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and spends his free time reading, travelling and coaching soccer.

Valerie J. Adamo
Chief Technology Officer, Ontario Pension Board

Valerie J. Adamo is the Chief Technology Officer of Ontario Pension Board (OPB). Prior to joining OPB in 2014, she served as the Chief Technology Officer at Health Shared Services in British Columbia, where she oversaw the technology infrastructure for healthcare in the province of BC, supporting six Health Authorities with more than 125,000 clients. Valerie also served as the Vice-President and Chief Information Officer at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. In addition to her IT role, she was the executive sponsor for a major IT-enabled business transformation program, which successfully digitized the front end of the claims process. Her teams are the recipients of numerous awards, including recognition by the Smithsonian Institute, CIPA’s and GTAC & Gartner awards for innovative use of technology. In her personal time, Valerie is an active life, career and executive coach, a member of her local school board’s Special Educational Advisory Committee, and also represents VOICE – an organization dedicated to supporting children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
