ScaleUp

TECHNATION is working with Shared Services Canada (SSC) on a social procurement initiative called ScaleUp, a collaborative approach to increase the diversity of bidders on government contracts with set-asides for underrepresented groups such as micro- and small-sized enterprises and businesses led/owned by women, visible minorities, persons with disabilities and Indigenous Canadians.

ScaleUp is a  competitive procurement mechanism that combines agile procurement concepts with a simplified bidding process to solicit bids from these companies on government procurements up to $229,600.00.

The first phase of the ScaleUp pilot resulted in more than 20 contracts awarded to businesses run by underrepresented groups, over 60% of whom were first-time contractors with the Government of Canada. The second phase of the pilot has extended ScaleUp to other government departments, who will use ScaleUp’s tools and processes to solicit bids in summer 2024.

ScaleUp solicitations will continue to be posted on CanadaBuys and via TECHNATION’s Digital Marketplace for IT-related requirements. ScaleUp Handout June 2024
