The gala celebrating the Canadian Health Informatics Awards (the ‘CHIA Awards’) is normally a highlight of the annual e-Health Conference and Tradeshow. This year proved the exception, as pandemic restrictions and physical distancing requirements meant the cancellation of galas of every type, everywhere. More pressing concerns took centre stage, and CHIA Award sponsors Digital Health Canada and TECHNCATION (formerly ITAC Health) put the awards aside until just last month, when a team of volunteer adjudicators stepped up to review the nominations and make their selections.
