Get Involved

Relationship building, sharing of best practices, and issues management are what our events are all about.

TECHNATION creates and supports industry events that deliver education, networking, and development of partnerships within the industry and with government at the federal level.

Executive Briefings

TECHNATION hosts several executive briefings with Federal Ministers and senior leaders within the Government of Canada to address ways the Canadian tech sector and government can work together to help government innovate, transform, and modernize.

Queen’s Park Days

TECHNATION hosts Queen’s Park Days as an annual event to provide tech industry leaders with the opportunity to engage directly with Cabinet Ministers and other senior officials in the Ontario Government, regardless of vendor affiliations. This allows members to discuss and bring attention to industry-wide issues and provide recommendations for solutions and actions.

Hill Day

As part of TECHNATION’S advocacy efforts, TECHNATION hosts Hill Day, an annual event that enables members to engage directly with Cabinet Ministers and other senior officials inside the Government of Canada on industry-wide issues and to recommend solutions. The event helps TECHNATION and its members to raise the profile of the tech sector in Canada, and to demonstrate the value of working with industry as partners to build a strong digital economy. Over the past few years, participants have focused on several key areas, including:

  • Helping government officials better understand the initiatives underway to improve IT service delivery, including legislative amendments;
  • Identifying how industry can work with Government to accelerate the implementation of procurement policy reforms;
  • Encouraging technology partnerships between Government (at all levels) and industry;
  • Exploring how to get involved in the development of digital pilot and challenges, including the Canadian Digital Service, Innovative Solutions Canada, Innovation for Defence and Security (IDEaS); and
  • Addressing ways to work with Government on industry/government partnerships so that industry can be involved much earlier on in helping transform, modernize, and digitize public service delivery to Canadians.
