Students are an ideal source of peoplepower for short-term projects. Employing work term students is an effective recruiting tool and supports the development of skills in the next generation of Canada’s workforce.

An eligible employer must be willing to provide a quality work experience in role which immerses a student in the use of technology. Tech and non-tech focused organizations are encouraged to apply.

Haven’t found a student yet?

  • Reach out to the co-op or career services department at post-secondary institutions in your region; they are happy to make new connections with industry professionals and can help match you with student talent
  • Use traditional recruitment methods to attract students, i.e. post a co-op/internship position on your favourite job board(s).
  • Use the Campus Connect Portal to broadcast your job description to multiple schools in your region; ensure to select TECHNATION (formerly ITAC) to affiliate with us under Funding Programs.

Will your job posting qualify?
Send us a copy of the job description for the role you are going to request subsidy for. The first three bullet points (core activities of the role) should demonstrate a clear connection to the use of technology.
